Meet Mitchell Babb: Account Executive

NX Direct is proud to introduce Mitchell Babb to the world. The stellar Account Executive has been with us since August of 2018 and has seen unrivaled success since that day. This month, we wanted to shine a spotlight on Babb and share his story with the world.

Born and raised in Conway, South Carolina, Babb was raised by his grandparents with a strong moral code and religious values. “The lessons I learned growing up have impacted how I have decided to live my life,” says Babb, “my family was very close and loving. There was always a strong female presence in my household, so I was taught chivalry at a young age and always treat everyone the same. I remember working in the garden and farm with my grandparents and learning how to play basketball with my grandma in our front yard.”

One thing you might not know about Mitchell at first glance is his artistic soul and love for music. “I was heavily involved with show choir and theatre in high school,” says Babb, “It helped me realize that there’s always someone out there better, but if I strive and continue to work harder, I will be able to compete, while still maintaining a friendly attitude.”

In truth, Mitchell Babb had no idea he would end up working in this field but ended up finding a career perfectly suited for his drive. “Coming from a tourist town, I was always immersed in the restaurant/hospitality industry,” says Babb, “My interest in sales peaked while working for a construction company. My move to Atlanta helped to jump-start this career choice for me with this opportunity. I was hired less than a week after moving to Atlanta from South Carolina.”

Before his 22nd birthday, Mitchell Babb experience a jarring loss. “I lost my best friend, my grandmother,” says Babb, “it was painful, but I choose to stay positive in her honor. I am always positive and have natural energy to persevere through any work situation.”

Upon his first day in the NX Direct office, Mitchell Babb knew he had found the place for him. “I immediately noticed the energy that all of my other co-workers brought in,” says Babb, “I would describe it as a strong family environment full of friendly competition and encouragement for continuous growth.”

As with any career, Babb’s time as an Account Executive on the team has brought challenges, adversities, and growth experiences. “NX Direct has helped me develop multiple skill sets that I have never accessed before,” says Babb, “I find time management to be extremely challenging, and finding a balance between work and personal life is tough for me. These challenges have paid off generously, and my proudest moment in the office is the first time I was named “Leader of the Week”. It’s truly an honor when your peers nominate you.”

When asked some fun, more casual questions, Mitchell answered “If I won the lottery, I would take care of my family and give them everything they have ever wanted. I would also try to figure out how to help out as many charities that support the homeless community. If I could tell my younger self anything it would be to not worry about what others think of you. To be successful is to be rich in love, have freedom of time, and the ability to do God’s work. To me, that is better than winning the lottery.”

As for the future, Mitchell Babb has his goals set high. “I am inspired by my grandparents each and every day,” says Babb, “I am motivated by the desire to make my family proud and strive to build a better life for myself and to help others. In five years, I see myself running my own business. I want to continue to grow in this industry, and my favorite thing is getting to know professional people who maintain serious jobs while balancing their personal life. If I could share any piece of advice it would be this: You only get one first impression, so make it a good one. When you select your career, always look to the people who have been working there and how long it took to achieve their success.”
