At NX Direct, we believe in the power of growth and ambition. Today, we celebrate one of our own, Mitchell McFall Babb Jr., as he embarks on an exciting new chapter—stepping out to lead his own business as CEO and President.
Mitchell, a Myrtle Beach native, joined NX Direct with a vision to create opportunities for himself and those around him. From his early days as an assistant manager to now branching out on his own, his journey stands as an example of where hard work and dedication can get you.
Mitchell’s story began in South Carolina, where he grew up with a close-knit family that has been his greatest source of inspiration. His family, along with business mentors like Adam Dorfman, Nelson Figueroa, Vinni Ascencao, and others, have profoundly influenced his life. As a child, Mitchell dreamed big, aspiring to become either the President of the United States or a U.S. Marshal. Those ambitions have shaped his determination and commitment to leadership, which are evident today as he steps into this new venture.
After high school, Mitchell chose a unique path, blending some college education with direct entry into the workforce. This experience taught him invaluable lessons about adulthood, success, and the importance of determination. “Hard work, a great attitude, and an undying determination are the main ingredients for success,” he says.
Mitchell’s entrepreneurial journey has been filled with significant milestones. At NX Direct, he consistently demonstrated excellence, achieving top 10 sales representative status nationwide and developing the skills and confidence needed to lead. Now, as he is in the first weeks since launching his own business, Mitchell reflects on moments like hiring his first employee, creating his company logo, and conducting his first candidate interview as surreal highlights.
When asked about his motivation, Mitchell points to his faith and the realization that most financially independent people run businesses. His values of loyalty, growth, and a “learn-it-all” mindset form the foundation of his leadership philosophy. He likens team building to teaching a village to fish, emphasizing that creating opportunities for others leads to lasting success.
Mitchell’s greatest strength is his intuition, which he pairs with his commitment to continuous improvement. “We must adapt or die,” he says, recognizing the importance of staying innovative in a fast-evolving industry. He plans his time meticulously, setting short-term and long-term goals and reviewing past performance to refine his strategies.
For him, leadership means serving others. His goal is to help his team members better themselves and build futures they can be proud of. He believes a successful entrepreneur is disciplined, relentless, and always prepared.
As Mitchell begins this new chapter, his vision extends beyond business success. He hopes to expand his company to support multiple teams and give back to the community. His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs? “Start now. You’ll never truly feel ready, but action always beats inaction.”
