On January 3rd, 2019, our company grew by one shining member. We are proud to have welcomed a new team member, Chelsea Cronin, to the NX Direct team! In an effort to immerse her into company culture and the industry at large, we sat down with her to discuss life, business, and what brought the recruiter through the doors of NX Direct.
Chelsea Cronin was born and raised in upstate New York, Utica to be exact. At the age of sixteen, Cronin and her family packed their bags and headed for Charlotte, North Carolina. Cronin remembers her childhood as one filled with energy, activity, and a busy social life. “I was hard working and charismatic,” says Cronin, “I was big into art, painting and charcoal to be exact, and a runner for fifteen years. I was a tri-athlete and I played percussion for eight years. I was very driven and dedicated to being the best.”
While today she serves powerfully in the recruiting chair, Chelsea Cronin never thought she would end up in the sales industry. “I spent fifteen years in the restaurant industry,” says Cronin, “My family owns a diner in upstate New York, where I started working when I was nine years old making toast for my uncle while he cooked and ran the diner. I made it all the way to the top, becoming the GM of a fine dining restaurant here in Buckhead, but I decided that it was time for a change.” Not only has Cronin mastered the kitchen and the office, but the recruiter also worked in the construction industry for two year pouring concrete foundations for homes!
Although it has only been a month for Chelsea, she has already found her place within the NX Direct culture. “The culture is super positive, upbeat, and has great energy,” says Cronin, “I am extremely fortunate to continue pursuing my opportunity with the team at NX Direct. As a recruiter, I would describe the culture as high energy. I want potential job candidates to understand that and come in with a student mentality. I wish more interviewees knew to be open-minded and ask about the opportunity!”
As for her goals, one month is all Chelsea Cronin needs to set them. “I want to perfect my craft within the first year,” says Cronin, “I want to take on more responsibility and become a greater asset. I want to bring in sharp quality candidates that fit the needs of the company, success driven individuals that are in it for the advancement opportunity. I want to constantly prove, to improve.”
